DISTRICT GRANTS

Rotary Foundation District Grants are designed to support District Clubs’ local community projects. While some Districts permit funding of international grants with District Grant Funds, District 6670 does not fund international projects or scholarships with District Grant Funds.

District Grants fund up to 50% of the project budget. There is no typical project budget but they tend to be, on average, about $7500 to $10,000. Clubs can submit more than one District Grant as long as each Grant has a priority for funding.

The District timeline for District Grant Submission is:

February – Annual Grant Management Seminar. Present Club Qualification Requirements (See Below). Announce Budget for District Grants. Review submission procedures ( See Below)

March and April – Submit closing reports for your completed projects, if any. Plan your new project, create your new budget, and prepare your new submission.

April 30 – Deadline for submission of District Grant

May – District Grant Sub Committee reviews submissions.

June – Notify Clubs of the status of their District Grant.

July – Send funds to successful recipients of District Grants.

July to January – Projects typically carried out during this time frame. No project can begin until the funds are received by the club.

DISTRICT GRANT HISTORY AND FUNDING

District 6670 typically has 25 to 30 clubs apply for funds. We make every effort to fund each Grant subject to Rotary guidelines and available funds.

Funds originate with club member donations to Annual Fund Share three years prior. Each District is allocated 47.5% of that total for District Grants and Global Grants (Another topic) plus earnings on Endowment Fund Share at the rate of 50% of the total available.
